Build, connect, and illuminate with Watt-a-Dough — a hands-on circuit-building kit that teaches kids simple electricity through squishy conductive dough and LED lights.
How to Play
1. Choose an Artwork Pick any of the 24 challenge scene cards — from a car on a night road to a rocket blasting off into space.
2. Match & Sculpt Take the conductive coloured dough and mould it onto the card, matching each shape and colour exactly as shown in the scene. Use the white insulating dough wherever two conductive paths need to stay separated — this is what keeps your circuit from short-circuiting.
3. Insert the LEDs Push the LED legs gently into the conductive dough at the marked points on the scene, following the image guide for placement and colour.
4. Connect & Illuminate Attach the battery holder's wires into the conductive dough to complete the circuit. Watch your scene light up!
Along the way, kids naturally discover:
-
Simple circuits – how electricity needs a complete path to flow from the battery, through the dough, to the LED, and back.
-
Closed circuits – why the LED only lights up once every connection point is touching correctly, with no gaps.
-
Short circuits – what happens when conductive dough touches itself in the wrong place (skipping the LED), and why the white insulating dough is used to prevent this.

- Real circuits, real understanding — Watt-a-Dough is built around a simple, exciting idea: kids sculpt conductive dough onto a scene, insert LEDs, and connect a battery pack to watch their creation light up. Each glowing result feels like a mini “wow” moment.
- STEM-certified learning through play — The kit combines sculpting, art, and basic electronics to build curiosity and problem-solving skills. Instead of memorising circuit diagrams first, kids build first and understand the concept as they go.
- 24 scenes keep the play fresh — With 24 illustrated challenge cards — rockets, sea creatures, forests, cars, and more — there's always a new circuit to build, so the learning never feels repetitive.
- Skill-building that feels fun — The kit highlights creativity and artistic expression, fine motor skills, understanding of simple electrical circuits, and problem-solving and experimentation. The sculpting and connecting naturally slows kids down and rewards patience with a glowing payoff.
